The Federal Government is set to honor 250 exceptional Nigerians across various sectors for their dedication, innovation, and patriotism as part of the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations. The initiative, titled “Nigeria Celebrates,” aims to recognize and celebrate the contributions of outstanding individuals who have made significant impacts in their respective fields.
According to a statement disclosed by Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information & Public Relations, the groundbreaking compendium of 250 top performers in Nigeria will be published, showcasing the country’s human capital potential and inspiring the youth to strive for greatness. The compendium will feature key government achievements, 11 top-performing state governors, and a series of activities, including a quiz competition, patriotic songs, creative exhibitions, and a music concert.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, described the initiative as a “historic and remarkable documentary” that celebrates the values of resilience, innovation, and patriotism among Nigerians. “This initiative presents a timely opportunity to reflect, project, and celebrate the values that define the Nigerian spirit,” Akume said, as represented by the Permanent Secretary Overseeing General Services Office, Mallam Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, FCNA.
The initiative aims to recognize excellence, inspire the youth, and promote credible narratives about Nigeria. The compendium will serve as a historic record and strategy for inspiring talents and promoting positive narratives about the country, recognizing excellence in governance, and documenting Nigerian excellence both at home and across the globe.
