The Federal Government has reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with local and international companies to advance renewable energy in Nigeria, aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote sustainable power generation. The disclosure came on Tuesday in Abuja when a delegation from KF Manufacturing Company, Guangzhou, China, led by its Managing Director/CEO, Bruce Zheng, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information & Public Relations, Office of the SGF, Akume emphasized that renewable energy is central to the administration’s economic recovery and sustainability objectives. “The Federal Government is opening its doors to genuine local and foreign companies with the capacity and technology to drive renewable energy projects across the country. This partnership will go a long way to promote efficient power to people, industries, and domestic uses,” he said.
Akume also highlighted government reforms aimed at making Nigeria a hub for business investment, noting the removal of multiple foreign exchange systems and redundant taxation. “We are making the cost of doing business simpler, easing the burden on small and medium-scale businesses, so that investors in renewable energy can thrive,” he added.
Earlier, Bruce Zheng expressed the company’s readiness to support Nigeria’s transition to clean energy, stressing that many government institutions are yet to fully adopt renewable technologies. “We supply solar panels, batteries, and inverters that are eco-friendly and compliant with green energy standards. We are ready to partner with the Government to ensure renewable energy becomes a key part of Nigeria’s energy mix,” he said.
Akume concluded by assuring that the administration would continue to create an enabling environment for investors in renewable energy, underlining the government’s commitment to sustainability, economic growth, and a greener future.
