The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 UTME resit examination, taken by candidates from centers affected by a recent incident. Despite challenges, the examination process exposed widespread malpractices by candidates and some Computer-Based Test (CBT) center proprietors.

A meeting of the Board’s Chief External Examiners revealed alarming practices, including hacking, AI-enabled photo blending, and registration infractions. These malpractices led to the withdrawal of some results and arrests of culprits.

The meeting made several key resolutions: a sub-committee was formed to verify the results, results will be analyzed and endorsed by a psychometrics expert, withheld results of under-aged candidates will be released but they won’t qualify for admission, and candidates involved in “WhatsApp runs” and other malpractices will have their results released as a one-time waiver.

Out of 336,845 scheduled candidates, 21,082 were absent. Performance analysis shows 17,025 (0.88%) scored 300 and above, 117,373 (6.08%) scored 250 and above, 565,988 (29.3%) scored 200 and above, and 1,365,479 (70.7%) scored below 200.

JAMB is investigating cases of examination malpractice, including a notable case of a candidate who falsely claimed a score of 326. The board will prosecute implicated CBT center proprietors and candidates.

JAMB extends gratitude to security agencies, WAEC, ABU, TRCN, and National Examinations Council for their support. The board commends the Registrar and Management for handling the incident.

JAMB assures the nation of continued dedication to service, emphasizing the importance of integrity in the examination process. The board urges candidates to refrain from malpractices and focus on academic excellence.
