According to Professor Emmanuel Ojo Ademola, AI sovereignty in teaching and teacher development is crucial for ensuring that AI technologies are integrated effectively and responsibly.
In a recent article, Professor Ademola highlighted the importance of pedagogical alignment, student welfare, and transparency in AI deployment. “AI technologies should be integrated in a way that aligns with pedagogical goals and objectives,” he noted.
The expert also emphasized the need for customized AI tools that cater to specific educational settings, particularly in Africa. “Developing AI tools that are specifically designed for African educational settings can help address unique challenges faced by teachers and students,” he said.
