The National APC Women Advocacy Organisation (NAWA-ORG) has taken a leading role in advancing inclusive governance and leadership development in Northern Nigeria through a new partnership with the Coalition of Northern Youth and Women Initiative for Good Governance (CNYWIGG). The strategic meeting, held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Maitama, Abuja, brought together both organisations to explore joint initiatives on leadership inclusion, civic education, and community engagement.

The Director-General of NAWA-ORG Dr Amina Kundiri emphasized that the collaboration aligns with the organisation’s core mandate of promoting socio-economic empowerment, political inclusion, and sustainable development across Nigeria. She noted that this partnership reflects NAWA-ORG’s strong alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiative of Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The meeting was attended by key representatives, including *the Director General of NAWA-ORG,Dr Amina KundirI, Hon. Attahiru Ibrahim, President of the Coalition and Dr. Hadiza Jamila, General Secretary of the Coalition. Discussions centered on collaboration and building frameworks to empower young people and women to play more active roles in political and governance processes.

Hon. Ibrahim said the engagement marked a deliberate step toward deepening cooperation among organisations that share the same values of inclusion and empowerment. He stressed that no discussion about youth advancement is complete without women, and no conversation about women’s empowerment can succeed without youth involvement. “The two must walk together if we truly want a progressive and inclusive Nigeria,” he said.

He noted that Northern Nigeria continues to face challenges of underrepresentation, particularly for women aspiring to leadership. Citing his personal experience in politics, Ibrahim lamented the persistent barriers facing young leaders. “They call us leaders of tomorrow, yet never make room for that tomorrow to come,” he said, adding that the meeting with NAWA-ORG was about partnership, not competition.

The Coalition’s General Secretary, Dr. Hadiza Jamila, commended the initiative as a call to action rather than a ceremonial meeting. “Inclusivity is not a favour but a necessity for democracy,” she said. “Women and youth are not bystanders; they are vital players in shaping Nigeria’s future.”

The NAWA-ORG Executive Team, led by the Director-General, expressed appreciation for the collaboration and pledged sustained engagement with the Coalition. Both organisations agreed to design joint programmes on leadership training, policy advocacy, and grassroots empowerment, affirming that unity, courage, and collective action remain key to achieving a more inclusive and accountable democratic future.

In furtherance of its relentless commitment to national renewal, NAWA-ORG continues to promote empowerment and social transformation through its strategic humanitarian arm , the Hope Forward Network (HFN). As a catalyst for inclusive empowerment, HFN aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiative of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu. It is dedicated to advancing women’s learning, well-being, and socio-economic inclusion, fostering resilience, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods across communities where hope truly translates into opportunity.
