President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building infrastructure that serves the people and unlocks economic potential.
The President made this statement while commissioning the newly constructed right-hand service carriageway of the Inner Northern Expressway (INEX) from Ring Road 3 (RR3) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“This vital carriageway we commission today is not just a road; it is a symbol of progress and a reflection of our administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda — an agenda committed to building infrastructure that serves the people, unlocks economic potential, and supports sustainable development,” President Tinubu said.
According to President Tinubu, the road will ease traffic flow, enhance connectivity, and improve urban mobility for millions of commuters, residents, and businesses in the city.
He commended the FCT Administration, led by Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike, for its vision and commitment to quality and timely execution of projects.
The President, represented by Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, emphasized the importance of protecting public infrastructure and obeying traffic rules.
“To the residents and road users, I appeal to you: protect this infrastructure, obey traffic rules, and treat public assets with respect. They belong to all of us and to generations yet unborn,” he added.
FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for keeping his promise to commission completed projects.
“Where there are roads to be completed, we will complete them. Where contractors fail to deliver, we will not hesitate to terminate and re-award contracts to those ready to work,” he assured.
The Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, thanked President Tinubu for his continued support and appreciated the FCT Minister for his outstanding initiatives in developing the FCT. “The people of Abuja will never ever forget you,” she said.
The Executive Secretary, FCDA, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, provided a technical brief on the project, highlighting its benefits, including reduced travel time and enhanced security.
