SGF Clarifies Appointment of Yomi Odunuga as Special Adviser on Media

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has officially clarified the appointment of Yomi Odunuga as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the SGF.

According to a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information & Public Relations, on July 13, 2025, “The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) wishes to clarify recent reports and public discourse surrounding the appointment of Yomi Odunuga as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the SGF.”

The statement further reads, “We hereby state unequivocally that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, CON, has formally and definitively appointed Yomi Odunuga as his Personal Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

In this capacity, Mr. Odunuga will provide strategic media advisory support to the SGF and collaborate closely with the Director, Information and Public Relations, to enhance the Office’s communication framework.”

Additionally, the statement emphasizes, “We emphasise that this appointment is official and in effect. In light of this clarification, we advise the public and media stakeholders to disregard any previous statements or speculations contradicting this formal announcement. Verified information will continue to be disseminated through official OSGF channels.”

The statement concludes, “We look forward to leveraging Mr. Odunuga’s extensive experience and expertise to further the goals of the Office and Government”.
