The SGF-led administration has assured its readiness to collaborate with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) to enhance pharmaceutical production and healthcare delivery under the Renewed Hope Agenda. The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by a PSN delegation, led by its National President, Pharmacist Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, to the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, CON, in Abuja on Monday, 18 November 2025.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Mohammed Danjuma Sanusi, the SGF reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing affordable and accessible healthcare for all. “Collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Society will ensure enhanced production of pharmaceutical products and strengthen national healthcare delivery,” he said. Officials also emphasized that funding and incentives would be provided to support partnerships with donor agencies and expand production capacity.
Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim highlighted PSN’s plans for its centenary celebration on 27 March 2027, including public enlightenment campaigns, health outreaches, lectures, and engagement with policymakers. “Our goal is to bring Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) directly to consumers and ensure quality healthcare services are widely available,” he said.
The PSN president also announced the launch of a N5 billion Endowment Fund dedicated to promoting pharmacy education, research, and pharmaceutical innovation. “This fund will advance pharmacy practice to new levels and support the training of the next generation of pharmacists,” he added.

Representatives from the SGF-led administration commended PSN for its forward-looking initiatives and reiterated their willingness to facilitate funding, partnerships, and policy support for the society’s programs. “By working closely with the Pharmaceutical Society, we aim to strengthen local pharmaceutical production and improve healthcare outcomes for all citizens,” Mr. Sanusi said.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both the administration and PSN to enhancing healthcare delivery, promoting research and education in pharmacy, and ensuring quality medicines reach citizens nationwide. The collaboration signals a strong partnership between government authorities and professional bodies to advance public health and pharmaceutical development.
