SGF Urges Religious Leaders to Champion National Unity and Peace

Abuja, May 2, 2025 – Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, has called on religious leaders to partner with the Federal Government to promote national unity and security.

Akume made the appeal while meeting with the Northern Pentecostal and Charismatic Bishops Communion of Nigeria, led by Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, in Abuja.

In a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information & Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the SGF underscored the crucial role of religious leaders in fostering interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

He praised the President’s commitment to inclusivity and national cohesion, highlighting the administration’s balanced appointments reflecting Nigeria’s diversity.

“President Tinubu is a true patriot who embraces unity and ensures inclusive governance,” Akume stated. “His administration is making notable progress in education, infrastructure, the economy, and security.”

Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for establishing the Federal University of Applied Science in Kachia, Southern Kaduna.

He commended the government’s commitment to economic development and its efforts to improve security, which have boosted agricultural productivity and contributed to a reduction in food prices.

The visit concluded with prayers for the continued success of President Tinubu’s administration and the nation’s progress.
