University recognizes outstanding contributions to education and societal development.

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) marked its 9th convocation ceremony with a special awards segment held on October 15, 2025, at the East Permanent Site in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State. The event celebrated individuals and organizations whose contributions have significantly impacted the university and society at large. Among the honorees was Tajudeen Ibrahim Bisimillah, who received the Education Support Award for his exceptional support to the institution and commitment to educational development in the region.
The awards ceremony recognized a total of 18 corporate organizations, 120 internal staff members, and 14 external personalities. These awards celebrated excellence, dedication, and meaningful contributions that extend beyond academic achievement to the broader community. The event underscored the university’s commitment to recognizing excellence, integrity, and service to humanity.
Tajudeen Ibrahim Bisimillah, a seasoned entrepreneur with over two decades of experience across Nigeria’s private and public sectors, has consistently supported initiatives that enhance learning opportunities and infrastructure development. His contributions include building schools, providing scholarships to underprivileged indigenous students, establishing information and communication technology centers, and funding religious activities to promote morality in society. The university lauded his dedication and described his contributions as a model for collaboration between individuals and academic institutions.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Bisimillah expressed heartfelt gratitude to the university, emphasizing that the award was both an honor and a motivation to continue supporting education. He credited the management of the university under Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for their exceptional academic and transformational leadership and assured of more collaboration with the institution to attain desirable educational accomplishments.
