Terrorists Routed: NAF Air Strikes Obliterate High-Ground Bandit Stronghold in Zamfara

By Dr. Nafisat Makinde

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has achieved a major operational success, neutralising a key terrorist stronghold in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

On 14 November 2025, the Air Component of the Joint Task Force of Operation FANSAN YAMMA conducted precision air strikes on the Sauri bandit camp, a high-ground hideout used by criminals as both a defensive position and logistics hub. The mission followed comprehensive intelligence and surveillance operations confirming significant terrorist activity and the concealment of rustled livestock.

Acting on this intelligence on 14 November, the NAF executed multiple coordinated strike passes on the identified targets. The operation successfully dislodged surviving terrorists attempting to escape into surrounding vegetation, where they were tracked and effectively engaged.

The mission resulted in the destruction of critical structures and logistics points, significantly weakening the operational capabilities of the bandits in the area. This decisive action underscores the NAF’s commitment under Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, who has consistently pledged:

“We will find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, said the operation reinforces the Joint Task Force’s resolve to deny terrorists safe havens, strengthen security in Zamfara, and support national efforts to restore peace and stability across the North West.

This operation, carried out on 14 November 2025, marks another significant step in Operation FANSAN YAMMA, demonstrating the NAF’s precision air capabilities and its unyielding stance against terrorism in Nigeria.
