He was also the first principal of the NTA Television College in Jos, where he inspired generations of broadcasters and journalists. Throughout his career, Professor Adaba demonstrated a commitment to excellence, integrity, and service to Nigeria’s media community.

The President’s tribute reflects the high esteem in which Professor Adaba was held by his peers and the nation at large.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, also mourned the passing of Professor Adaba, describing him as a “leading light for development in Nigeria and a courageous voice of the people of Ebira land and Kogi state,” as quoted in a press release from the Kogi State Government. Governor Ododo expressed grief over the demise of the ace broadcaster, communications scholar, and media administrator, saying: “I am saddened by the death of our father and Leader, Professor Tom Adaba who has gone to be with his maker. Our prayers are with his immediate family, the people of Kogi State, and Nigeria at large for the colossal loss of the man who was widely regarded as a teacher, mentor, and leader by many in the media profession, the academia, Ebira community, and Nigeria.”

    1. Wow! What a good biography of late Prof Tom Adaba whom I have just come to know better at death by this well articulated context given journalism exhibited by journalist Nafisat Makinde. Honestly Nigeria has just lost a gem in the demise of late Prof Adaba who actually belonged to the genre of the late Capital Market guru Dr. Kolade. May his quiet gentle soul rest in peace.
